I Stand With Planned Parenthood

Stop the War on Women!

We Need Planned Parenthood!

It troubles me deeply that there are people in the United States that want to deny the poorest among us the availability of health care.  Those who would stop funding for abortions also want to deny poor people access to birth control.  Planned Parenthood has said that only a small part of its services involve abortions, and that stripping its federal funding would curb cancer screenings, HIV testing, birth control and other medical needs.

“More than 90% of the healthcare Planned Parenthood provides is preventive,” the organization’s president Cecile Richards said in a statement.

If those opposing Planned Parenthood have their way poor women would bare children they cannot adequately care for and would have to rely on welfare payments.  Apparently those wanting to de-fund Planned Parenthood believe that abstinence must be the behavior of the poor.  That is an unlikely expectation.
