The Royal Soap Opera

The British royal family must love the non-stop news stories about the king (Charles), his wife (Camilla), his children (Harry and William), his children’s spouses (Megan and Kate), and aunts and uncles (Andrew and Margaret).  If they wanted that news to stop they would stop writing books about the family and stop doing interviews.  Below is a list of the more scandalous postings I have seen on news web sites.  None can be verified.  It is all part of a never ending soap opera that is better than the real soaps like Days of Our  Lives. News items about the family are usually under the category of Entertainment.

A prerecorded interview with Britain’s ITV is scheduled to air Sunday evening. CBS show “60 Minutes” is set to run a conversation with the prince later, and he is appearing on “Good Morning America” and “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.”  

1. When Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were blissfully planning their 2018 wedding, one person was prohibited from the guest list — Princess Diana‘s ex-lover, James Hewitt, the man long suspected of being Harry’s biological dad, RadarOnline.com has learned. “The prince doesn’t want the other guests looking at Hewitt and then at Harry and whispering about how much they look alike,” spilled the insider.

2. Britain’s Prince Harry spent 10 years in the British army. He served two tours in Afghanistan, the first in 2007 and 2008 and the second in 2012 and 2013. Though he in 2013 revealed he’d killed Afghan insurgents during attacks against the Taliban when he was an Apache attack helicopter co-pilot gunner, in his January 2023 memoir, “Spare,” the Duke of Sussex disclosed — for the first time — that he killed 25 people during his second tour of duty. As reported by The Telegraph, Harry writes in his memoir that he flew on six missions that resulted in “the taking of human lives.” He felt neither proud nor ashamed, explaining that during combat, he thought of those who died not as “people” but as “chess pieces” that had been taken off the board. Harry has long been a terrorist target because of his two deployments, but in the wake of the revelations in his book, reports indicate there are increased concerts for his safety.

4. Prince Harry hasn’t revealed whether he and Meghan Markle will attend King Charles’ coronation. During the ITV interview promo, when asked by Tom Bradby if he will attend, Harry says, “There’s a lot can happen between now and then.” Harry goes on to say it’s up to his family to make the next move. “But the door is always open” he continues. “The ball is in their court. There’s a lot to be discussed and I really hope that they’re willing to talk about it.” Harry also says that while he still believes in the monarchy, he doesn’t know if he will be part of it in the future.

I just finished watching Grapes of Wrath. It is based on the book by John Steinbeck. It is a tear jerker. The movie does an excellent job of depicting the camps of Dust Bowl migrants coming to California for work. The last chapters of the book are not in the movie. As I watched the movie I could see the relevance to today’s homeless on Skid Row and other homeless encampments around Los Angeles. Police in the movie chasing those Oakies are the same police chasing homeless people today. Steinbeck offered no solution just as today’s Los Angeles mayor has no solution. There is no place to house 40,000 homeless people in 2023.

You may believe the mayor (Bass) and the county supervisors can change the situation but there really is not an idea of how to resolve the issue of 60,000 homeless in Los Angeles County. There is no plan for permanent housing and I doubt we have the money to accomplish that goal.

The real question should be how did we get here? Those people living in motor homes and tents are not all on drugs and mentally ill. The shrinking number of low paying jobs is an ever feed to the homeless population. Many of those people may not be able to handle anything more difficult than janitors and fast food workers.

Dracula’s Castle

Looking like it’s been carved from the cliffs it’s planted on, Bran Castle in Transylvania is the very picture of ‘spooky.’ Although much history has passed through and around this medieval fortress, one infamous historical figure—once intimately linked to the castle—is now thought to have never set foot in it. ‘Dracula’s Castle,’ as the Romanian tourist board began calling Bran Castle in the 1970s, wasn’t the home of Vlad the Impaler, the brutal 15th-century ruler of Wallachia. And Bram Stoker, author of the novel that Vlad inspired, didn’t base his Dracula’s Castle on this castle. (One of Vlad’s actual lairs was Poenari Castle, a mountaintop ruin about two hours west.)

While it turns out Bran Castle has little to do with the bloodsucking Count, it most certainly looks the part from the outside based on the movie version.

Based on my own family, on my mother’s side, the people of Romania in days gone by very superstitious. Hexes and threatened hexes or curses were part of the family that came to America. Sadly I have no powers. But then again perhaps people do sense there is something strange about me and few will be my friend.

The film was actually shot at Shea’s Castle, near Lancaster, California and does not look like the castle in the movie.

Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) plan to restore Trump presidency

CPAC attendees handed a “7-pt. plan to restore Donald J. Trump in days, not years,” which involves installing Trump as speaker and ousting Biden & Harris. It is more entertainment provided by the host of The Apprentice.

Many attendees are taking this as a serious happening.

My questions: 

  1. Who is the Good Witch of the North?
  2. Will Donald Trump play the part of the wizard?
  3. Is this a remake of The Wizard Of OZ?
  4. Will the movie be on Netflix?

Trump is the Light – The Media is the Moth

For years, scientists have tried to explain why moths and other insects are attracted to lights, but scientists are not entirely sure why!

In today’s media driven world Donald Trump is the light. Even as his role as president of the United States will likely end on January 20, 2021 the media continues to attend his rallies and columnists continue to write about his behavior. I counted ten articles about his actions on this morning’s CNN web site. Two more on the NYT web site and another four offered by the Washington Post.

The fascination is obvious to me. Donald Trump provides everyone an interesting exciting alternate reality. It’s something like a Twilight Zone reality.

The news media just can’t resist the Donald Trump light. Just like moths, the press will be tracking the light as long as it continues to burn.

The End of the Republic – How it Happened

It was January 20, 2025 and Donald Trump was inaugurated for a third term as president of the United States. The ceremony was conducted in the Rose Garden at the White House. Only Trump’s closest advisers and his cabinet were present for the ceremony. Associate Justice Amy Coney Barrett conducted the swearing in.

How did this happen?

Donald Trump claimed the election of November 3, 2020 was fraudulent due to the prominent use of mail-in ballots. The Supreme Court declared him the winner by a 5 to 4 vote. The those making him president were Associate Justices, ▸ Samuel A. Alito, Jr., Neil M. Gorsuch, Brett M. Kavanaugh, Clarence Thomas, Amy Coney Barrett.

There were protests across the country even as the inauguration ceremony was being conducted. Trump declared martial law immediately after the ceremony. Using the Insurrection Act as the bases for his decision.

With the departure of Stephen Breyer from the Supreme Court in 2023 at the age of 84 there were now three moderate or liberal justices. Trump declared his intention to run for a third term due to the fact that the country was under martial law. The court agreed by a 6 to 3 vote.

On this January 25, 2025 Trump has just declared the constitution null and void.

The Virus is Gone and other Fairy Tales

On Monday, Vice President Pence urged governors to take increased testing into account for increased cases. And on Tuesday, he penned an op-ed in the Wall Street Journal claiming there is “no second wave” of coronavirus. Pence also traveled to Iowa Tuesday, where he had lunch at a local restaurant with Republican Gov. Kim Reynolds and made remarks at Winnebago Industries touting US “recovery.”

Donald Trump and his henchman Mike Pence say the virus is over so it must be true.  After all they are president and vice president of the United States.  Trump is quoted as saying ‘If we stop testing right now, we’d have very few cases, if any.’   They would never lie to the American people. The White press secretary said she would never lie.

Of course the reported data is all fake news. The new cases is really just better testing. That is the reason the number of cases is exaggerated. Besides the media loves to create panic. After all those liberal news outlets are making lots of money with their non-stop reporting of illnesses and deaths. We know that our own projections of deaths is part of the deep state and cannot be trusted.

You can’t trust Dr. Anthony Fauci. He after all is just a pointy headed scientist who knows nothing about life.

Believe us when we tell you the virus will be gone in weeks.
