Crude Oil $123.07 per Barrel

Crude Oil (petroleum); Dated Brent, US$ per barrel As of: Wednesday, February 22, 2012 was $123.07.  Source: US Energy Information Administration

So while the price of crude oil increased by 6% since this time last year, the cost of gasoline increased by 10%.  Why the difference?

It’s the speculators!

An excess profits tax is appropriate but it won’t be implemented.

Source for gasoline prices is the AAA.

  1. i think that it’s important to keep pointing out to people that the gas prices are going up only because thats what the big oil pundits want. They care not one bit what happens to anyones country much less the earth and right now they want anyone but our president in office because they can’t control him. I hope that with pressure from the people we can get regulations in effect that would cap the profits and also regulations to protect us from their unethical behavior with our corrupted elected officials. Think Speaker Boehner, Mitch Daniels and so on.
