Norway says Terrorism Against Israel is Justified

With galling Chutzpah, Norway’s Ambassador to Israel has suggested that Hamas terrorism against Israel is more justified than the recent terrorist attack against Norway!

Alan Dershowitz responds…

Is Terrorism Against Israel Really More Justified Than Terrorism Against Norway?

July 28, 2011 at 4:30 pm

In a recent interview, Norway’s Ambassador to Israel has suggested that Hamas terrorism against Israel is more justified than the recent terrorist attack against Norway. His reasoning is that, “We Norwegians consider the occupation to be the cause of the terror against Israel.” In other words terrorism against Israeli citizens is the fault of Israel. The terrorism against Norway, on the other hand, was based on “an ideology that said that Norway, particularly the Labor Party, is foregoing Norwegian culture.” It is hard to imagine that he would make such a provocative statement without express approval from the Norwegian government.

I can’t remember many other examples of so much nonsense compressed in such short an interview. First of all, terrorism against Israel began well before there was any “occupation”. The first major terrorist attack against Jews who had long lived in Jerusalem and Hebron began in 1929, when the leader of the Palestinian people, the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem, ordered a religiously-motivated terrorist attack that killed hundreds of religious Jews-many old, some quite young. Terrorism against Jews continued through the 1930s. Once Israel was established as a state, but well before it captured the West Bank, terrorism became the primary means of attacking Israel across the Jordanian, Egyptian and Lebanese borders. If the occupation is the cause of the terror against Israel, what was the cause of all the terror that preceded any occupation?

I was not surprised to hear such ahistorical bigotry from a Norwegian Ambassador. Norway is the most anti-Semitic and anti-Israel country in Europe today. I know, because I experienced both personally during a recent visit and tour of universities. No university would invite me to lecture, unless I promised not to discuss Israel. Norway forbids Jewish ritual slaughter, but not Islamic ritual slaughter. Its political and academic leaders openly make statements that cross the line from anti-Zionism to anti-Semitism, such as when Norway’s former Prime Minister condemned Barak Obama for appointing a Jew as his Chief of Staff. No other European leader would make such a statement and get away with it. In Norway, this bigoted statement was praised, as were similar statements made by a leading academic.

The very camp that was attacked by the lone terrorist was engaged in an orgy of anti-Israel hatred the day before the shooting. Yet I would not ever claim that it was Norway’s anti-Semitism that “caused” the horrible act of terrorism against young Norwegians.

The causes of terrorism are multifaceted but at bottom they have a common cause: namely a belief that violence is the proper response to policies that the terrorists disagree with. The other common cause is that terrorism has often been rewarded. Norway, for example, has repeatedly rewarded Palestinian terrorism against Israel, while punishing Israel for its efforts to protect its civilians. While purporting to condemn all terrorist acts, the Norwegian government has sought to justify Palestinian terrorism as having a legitimate cause. This clearly is an invitation to continued terrorism.

It is important for the world never to reward terrorism by supporting the policies of those who employ it as an alternative to reason discourse, diplomatic resolution or political compromise.

I know of no reasonable person who has tried to justify the terrorist attacks against Norway. Yet there are many Norwegians who not only justify terrorist attacks against Israel, but praise them, support them, help finance them, and legitimate them.

The world must unite in condemning and punishing all terrorist attacks against innocent civilians, regardless of the motive or purported cause of the terrorism. Norway, as a nation, has failed to do this. It wants us all to condemn the terrorist attack on its civilians, and we should all do that, but it refuses to live by a single standard.

Nothing good ever comes from terrorism, so don’t expect the Norwegians to learn any lessons from its own victimization. As the Ambassador made clear in his benighted interview, “those of us who believe [the occupation to be the cause of the terror against Israel] will not change their minds because of the attack in Oslo.” In other words, they will persist in their bigoted view that Israel is the cause of the terrorism directed at it, and that if only Israel were to end the occupation (as it offered to do in 2000-2001 and again in 2007), the terrorism will end. Even Hamas, which Norway supports in many ways, has made clear that it will not end its terrorism as long as Israel continues to exist. Hamas believes that Israel’s very existence is the cause of the terrorism against it. That sounds a lot like the ranting of the man who engaged in the act of terrorism against Norway.

The time is long overdue for Norwegians to do some deep soul searching about their sordid history of complicity with all forms of bigotry ranging from the anti-Semitic Nazis to the anti-Semitic Hamas. There seems to be a common thread.

Press 3 for Arabic

Something is terribly wrong here!

I cannot verify all of the information below but the “Press 3 for Arabic” is accurate.  Click on the Michigan web site below.

THE CAMEL’S NOSE IS OFFICIALLY IN THE TENT IN MICHIGAN!!!

Muslim men are allowed to have as many as 4 wives. Many Muslims have immigrated into the U.S. And brought their 2-3-or 4 wives with them, but the U.S. Does not allow multi marriages, so the man lists one wife as his, and signs the other 2 or 3 up as extended family on welfare and other free Government programs!  Michigan has the highest population of Muslims in the United States. When President Obama took office the United States paid several millions of dollars to have a large number of Palestinians, (All Muslim), immigrated here from Palestine. Why? I have no idea, do you! We don’t pay for other persons to immigrate here, and I’m sure that some of those Muslims moved into Michigan with the large current number of Muslims already established there.

So now in Michigan when you call the Public Assistance office you are told to “Press 1 for English. Press 2 for Spanish, or Press 3 for Arabic”!

Every time you add a new language to an American program it requires an additional number of persons fluent in that language.  To process those persons who refuse to learn English in order to live here is an additional cost to the taxpayer! Why are we even allowing persons to immigrate here who cannot provide for themselves, and putting them in our welfare system?

Press 3 for Arabic .
This is quite alarming!!! This seems to have happened clandestinely, for, as far as I know, no public announcement, or opportunity to vote on this was offered to the American people. They’re just adopting an official stance, and very likely using tax-payer money for it, in various capacities, without public knowledge or approval.

The following link takes you into the State of Michigan Public Assistance page, (as in Food Stamps etc). You won’t have to scroll far before you see the assistance-letters options for…(get this)…..English, Spanish, and ARABIC !!!

When did the ARABIC option sneak into our culture? Will we soon have to listen to our governmental offices, stores, and other venues offer us the option of “pressing 3 for ARABIC?”

Check it out for yourself.

The camel’s nose is literally now OFFICIALLY under the tent! YOUR TAX DOLLARS AT WORK!!!

April 19, 2014: The English, Spanish, Arab option has been removed.

Great Fun in Iowa

CNN, MSNBC, FOX, and all the other network stations have done an outstanding job of covering the Ames, Iowa Straw Poll.  The winners of that event have not always become the nominee of the party so there really is no purpose in spending too much time on the results.

Of course the poll does boost some candidates and likely ends the candidacy of others.  That is probably a good thing.

Television does need a story to fill the air waves and the Ames, Iowa Straw Poll serves a purpose.

Rick Perry’s declaration of candidacy is a more important event.  He could easily become the GOP nominee.  With 15 months until the next election there is plenty of time for more candidates to join the fray.  Let’s face it, if Sarah Palin becomes a candidate she is the most likely to be the nominee.

An Economy in Free Fall

Tourneau in Westfield Topanga is no more

A free falling object is an object that is falling under the sole influence of gravity.  No one knows where the object will land.  A free falling economy is undefined but appears to be an economy that is collapsing.  No one knows where it will end.  Jobs are disappearing, businesses are closing, and the only purchasing is for necessities of life.  Those necessities are water, food, and power for cooking and heat.

Happily most of us are not in that stage now but we seem to be going that way.  The government is functioning poorly at best, jobs are difficult to find, and businesses are closing.  These are all the facts that brought us the Great Depression.

Of course no one in our government and no one in the media want to use the word “depression.”  The mere suggestion of “depression” might start the population to believe it can happen again.

“Double dip, here we come,” said Colin Barr in Fortune.com.

The private sector should be the engine of hiring, but it’s holding back because of “scant demand,” said Phil Izzo in The Wall Street Journal.

“Let’s face it”, said David Leonhardt in The New York Times: The “old consumer economy is gone, and it’s not coming back.”

One big difference this time is the lack of government hiring, which tends to “blunt the bleeding of the private sector” during downturns, said Morgan Housel in TheMotleyFool.com. Since 2010, the public sector has cut nearly half a million jobs, particularly at the state and local levels, because of “plunging tax receipts.” Add those job losses to the steep declines in manufacturing, construction, and retail, and you can see why “most respected economists don’t see employment hitting pre-recession levels until 2014 at the earliest.”

The Federal Open Market Committee of the Federal Reserve issued a statement yesterday that read in part:

To promote the ongoing economic recovery and to help ensure that inflation, over time, is at levels consistent with its mandate, the Committee decided today to keep the target range for the federal funds rate at 0 to 1/4 percent.  The Committee currently anticipates that economic conditions–including low rates of resource utilization and a subdued outlook for inflation over the medium run–are likely to warrant exceptionally low levels for the federal funds rate at least through mid-2013.

I never shopped in Tourneau in Westfield Topanga but it was a very large store.

Does anyone believe this economy will recover before 2013?  Write your explanation here.

The Attorney and His Lexus

A very successful attorney parked his brand new Lexus in front of his office, ready to show it off to his colleagues.

As he was getting out, a truck came along too closely and completely tore off the driver’s door.

Fortunately, a cop in a police car was close enough to see the accident and pulled up behind the Lexus with his lights flashing.

Before the cop had a chance to ask any questions, the attorney started screaming hysterically about how his Lexus, which he had just purchased the day before, was completely ruined and would never be the same, no matter how any car body shop tried to make it new again. After the lawyer finally wound down from his rant, the cop shook his head in disbelief. “I can’t believe how materialistic you lawyers are,” he said. “You are so focused on your possessions that you neglect the most important things in life.”

“How can you say such a thing?” asked the lawyer.

The cop replied, “Don’t you even realize that your left arm is missing? It was severed when the truck hit you!”

“OH, MY GOD!!!” screamed the lawyer, “My Rolex!”

Prepare for a Dirty 2012 Campaign

Chris Matthews, Hardball host on MSNBC, had guests on his show today that were talking about the Obama committee plans to paint Mitt Romney as “weird” at this early date even though he is not the GOP nominee.  Apparently the Democratic Party anticipates the possibility of Romney winning the nomination.  Obviously they would prefer a Bachmann, Perry, or other hard right candidate.  Such a nominee would be an easier target for the Democratic machine.  “Weird” may be a reference to his religion but the idea is to leave it to those listening to the Democratic talk to provide their own interpretation.   Hardball reference was calling the plans Swiftboat 2.0.

Matthews said nothing to distance himself from the Democratic plans.  How dirty will the campaign get? VERY DIRTY!

An Obviously Gay Flight Attendant

My flight was being served by an obviously gay flight attendant, who seemed to put everyone in a good mood as he served us food and drinks.

As the plane prepared to descend, he came swishing down the aisle and told us that ‘Captain Marvey has asked me to announce that he’ll be landing the big scary plane shortly, so lovely people, if you could just put your trays up, that would be super….’

On his trip back up the aisle, he noticed this well-dressed and rather Arabic looking woman hadn’t moved a muscle.
‘Perhaps you didn’t hear me over those big brute engines but I asked you to raise your trazy-poo, so the main man can pitty-pat us on the ground.’
She calmly turned her head and said,
‘In my country, I am called a Princess and I take orders from no one.’

To which (I swear) the flight attendant replied, without missing a beat,
‘Well, sweet-cheeks, in my country I’m called a Queen, so I outrank you.
Tray-up, Bitch’

S&P Downgrades U.S. Debt for First Time in History

A Prediction for the 2012 Election

The Tea Party had it’s say in the debt ceiling negotiations.  The president pleaded with the Republican controlled House of Representatives to raise the ceiling and do a grand bargain to cut the debt by $4 trillion.  Instead we saw a delay to the last day before default and an inconsequential debt reduction law.

Now the country will most likely have to pay higher interest on treasury notes and bonds.  Of course the Tea Party will deny responsibility for this situation.

It is a good bet the president knew that this would be the outcome if there was no $4 trillion agreement.  Being the mild-mannered man that he is, Barack Obama did not spell out the consequences.  As a leader he too has failed.

There is no indication that the next president, a Republican, will manage this nation any better than Obama.  We will hear broad generalities that will be as meaningless as Obama’s “Change you can believe in.”  The nation will be fed up with Obama and will elect the GOP nominee with fingers crossed and lots of prayer.
